Tyler Man Pleads Guilty to Murder in 2022 Shooting Death

Tyler, TX - June 16, 2023 - Timothy Eugene Jones was sentenced to 40 years in prison in Judge Austin Reeve Jackson’s Court. Timothy Jones pleaded guilty to the murder of his roommate, Anthony Wilson, and will receive credit for time served in the Smith Council jail since his arrest.

Anthony Wilson, who lived in a three-bedroom home with Timothy Jones and others, was found in a wooded area on March 27, 2022. The landlord found what appeared to be blood in Wilson’s room and reported it to the police. With cell phone records and eyewitness accounts, Timothy Jones was arrested by Tyler police and charged with murder.

Edna Jones and Christian Navon Whitney-Polk were also charged in Wilson’s death for tampering with evidence. Their cases are ongoing.
