114th District Court Judge Austin Reeve Jackson Issues Arrest Warrant for Transportation of Fentanyl
114th District Court Judge Austin Reeve Jackson issued an arrest warrant for Erik Marin Islas Angeles, of Mexico, who was caught transporting fentanyl in a hollowed-out car battery. The arrest was made on February 17, 2023, by a K-9 deputy who was conducting a traffic stop off of I-20 in Smith County. Erik Marin Islas Angeles was arrested on charges of transporting nine pounds of fentanyl after the deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and found the car battery. Judge Austin Reeve Jackson stated, “Proud to support the great men and women of Smith County Law Enforcement who are out doing the hard work to keep these ultra-dangerous drugs off our streets, out of our communities, and away from our families.”
